The Magic of Plants
We are constantly surrounded by plants and trees of all kinds here in the jungle and so we’re blessed to have their wisdom and magic with us daily. That magic is everywhere in the world, even the densest of human environments has plant life. From roses to dandelions their physical presence, scents and artwork are everywhere carrying an energetic vibration.
Plants were here before humans and will probably be here long after us and it’s said that for every disease or affliction there is a plant that can bring about a cure. Without plants there are no humans, they are food, medicine and oxygen all rolled into one. In some native languages the word for plants translates as ‘those who take care of us.’
This essential relationship has deep roots. In ancient Greek mythology when titans and gods waged war with each other, plants would often be used to protect, heal and poison. This method or practice was called Pharmakon and there are examples of it throughout the Greek classics. It has given birth to Pharmacopeia and modern day medicine and pharmaceuticals.
It’s written in some texts that the only way to kill a God or a Titan was with Pharmakon. Nothing else would work. And of course, way before that the indigenous of the world’s forests and jungles have always known and connected to the magical power of plants.
I think this power is well known to the people that hold power in this world. It’s why so many plants have been inverted against the population.
Sacred Tobacco soaked in chemicals to make cigarettes that harmed entire families.
The heart opening Coca plant reduced and mixed into Cocaine, no longer a force for truth and heart opening, now an egoic pursuit fuelling greed and hungry ghosts.
Cacao filled with sugar and hydrogenated fats to numb and stupefy our precious youth.
Cannabis, the healing medicine of the body, hybridised and bred beyond anything found in nature to numb and mollify people in the prime of life.
All inverted to take energy instead of give, to perpetuate a system fuelled by destruction, exploitation and greed.
The plants have power and they are waiting for us to share that power with them. To find the power to heal and return to balance. It’s not a selfless quest that these magical beings embark on. They know what’s at stake. They know that damaged unconscious humans are the biggest threat this planet faces. As emissaries of Gaia they fully realise the consequences of where we’re heading as a species. This is not a short term play. The return to plants is a game of aeons, it’s generational.
It’s why we do what we do, how we do it. To return humans to the right relationship with plants. To heal and to learn. And whilst we can sit here and talk about the science and the ethics of this, what we experience is pure magic. And not just with the ethereal entheogenic portals of Ayahuasca. The magic is alive and kicking in all the plants, and how they work with our consciousness to guide and lead us to healing is quite simply beyond the scientific method and its current parameters.
That’s not to say we’re anti science, we’re not against science exploring the right questions and catching up. Not at all, indeed we deeply support this.
Within its current scope, however, the lens is too limited to bring any kind of real understanding. The key is in relationships and how we connect with these plants which is why working within the container of diet is by far our favourite.
When in a dieta you have clarity, connection, ritual, respect and reciprocity. The portal for the magic to open up is fully set. Our ability to listen and connect increases exponentially. And the plants have the space and the frequency to show exactly what they can do.
This is the foundation of our work with these incredible beings. Respect built on relationship and reciprocity. If dieting with a plant is in your field right now then we would love to hear from you.
