Our Retreats

The retreat space is nestled in pristine virgin rainforest with a private ocean view. We share the space with several kinds of monkeys, sloths, colorful frogs, morpho butterflies, hummingbirds, countless varieties of birds, and exotic insects.

Surrounded by 9 acres of primary rainforest, we are still only a 20-minute car journey away from the nearest health clinic and just over an hour away from Limón airport.

OUR APPROACH

At Sowa Soma, our approach is built on four pillars:

Ritual

Ritual gives our lives structure and guides intention. It sets the tone, creates the boundaries and overlays the container for what we do.

Relationship

Through respect we come to understand ourselves and those around us on a deeper level. We hear our inner, higher and subconscious voices when they speak.

Respect

When we are truly listening, we are in relationship and have the opportunity to be in right relationship. Our lives revolve around relationship.

Reciprocity

With our foundations of respect, our relationships become grounded in reciprocity. We do not take without asking. We do not give without asking.

We aim to create as impeccable a space as possible and this intention guides our approach.

Before each retreat our participants are carefully screened and interviewed to ensure we are the right fit for their needs. We will always assist and recommend different spaces if we are unable to accommodate someone.

Our space is purposefully kept small and intimate with 6-8 participants ensuring we can provide a high level of care and support. Each ceremony involves careful planning and preparation which participants are included in. In between ceremonies we promote rest, recuperation and integration that includes optional excursions into Costa Rica’s natural treasures.

Let’s heal together

All ceremonies and activities during retreats are optional with deep respect given to each individual's nervous system.
